Get your name out there: Trying out the Sampler.

First of all, allow me to admit that I am what you’d call a blog novice… so bear with me!

One day while perusing the forums of Etsy, the topic of the Sampler came up. I wasn’t entirely sure what the Sampler was, but from the sounds of it, it was a fun and creative means of self promotion. I took a look at the weblink and was both intrigued and hooked.

The Sampler, as it turns out, is a box full of items provided by indie artists and deisgners. The items range from magnets to notecards, soap samples, necklaces, hair clips, you name it! The items are donated by these artists, who are in turn compensated with a free Sampler box for the month that they are featured. The Sampler boxes are for sale on the website, and are sold to subscribers, media members, and the world at large. It seems like a really fun way to get your shop known! You select the number of items you would like to contribute, anywhere from 25 items to 100+!

I have decided to try out the Sampler. The suggestion is to contribute small, lightweight items, so I have decided to send a bunch of ipod cozies. I had a lot of fun making them, so we’ll see how things go! All in all, my Sampler experience so far has been positive, and I highly recommend contributing to everyone!
