Jewelry designer: Jackie

il_430xn13855025.jpgMy Name is Jackie and the name of my shop is A Keeper’s Jackpot. It’s an anagram using the nicknames of the people and pets of my house. Most of what I sell is jewelry, mostly beaded. I also sell beaded bookmarks. I try to vary the materials in my jewelry. I work with wire, pendants, and beads but I’m getting into making polymer clay as well and I look forward to using my beading loom too.

I got into making jewelry when my sister-in-law made me a beaded necklace for Christmas. I thought it was really pretty and I started making beaded jewelry for myself and for gifts. When I had enough, I thought I’d try to sell it too!

My inspiration comes from several places. Usually it starts with a specific pendant or focal bead and I work from there. Other times it comes from a mistake that gives me an idea, like my Bird Nest Choker. I also have a project a month calendar that gives me ideas to work with. I have used beading magazines as well, but I put my own ideas into them as well.

I promote my work on my Blog mostly. Actually, an editor from BeadingDaily.com came across my site and wrote a little piece on my bird nest choker and linked her story to my Blog.

About Emma
I think that the creativity is a gift that has to have its own freedom, the designs of my jewelry reflect my feelings and emotions, I always try to be dedicated in which I do up to being capable of saying that it is finished and therefore that it is possible to put in exhibition. I'm inspired with the colors of the nature mixed with the feelings and emotions that evoke me.
