- What is the name of your Shop?
My shop is gilbea. I wasn’t very original at choosing my name, because my real name is Loli Gil Bea… so there you go! But after all, I thought to myself, all big designers name their brand after themselves! Carolina Herrera, Armani, Dior… So why not me?
- What types of items do you sell?
I make all kind of items with silk. I started with silk paintings and silk scarves. Later I discovered I could make bookmarks with it, and brooches! Now for my spring/summer collection I’m working on silk bags and shirts.
- How did you get into your craft?
A long time ago I took watercolour painting lessons, and that’s how I got into the whole art and exhibitions world. One day someone bought me a book about silk painting and that’s when the adventure started!
- Where does your inspiration come from?
From nature mostly, but also from other painters like Picasso and Miro, I really like painting abstract shapes.
