It’s a bird… it’s a plane…. it’s Cut out and Keep!
Man oh man, when I first saw this site, I was floored (in a good way, of course!). Part DIY paradise, part community, part funky online magazine, Cut out and Keep is an online treasure trove! Whenever I visit, I feel like I am at a busy carnival, so much to look at and see and do!
For me, the first obvious feature is the do-it-yourself, step-by-step instructions on everything from ruler wristbands to delicious desserts and everything in between. The tutorials are supplied by users of the site, which also functions as an online community and a place to network with fellow artisans/crafters/etc.
The “community” section features all of the registered users of the site. Unfortunately, many people do not have pictures uploaded and profiles completed, but each person can set up a page very similar to those found in IndiePublic. This page also helps you keep track of the tutorials that are your favorites as well as friends and general likes and dislikes.
Quite possibly my favorite, however, is the online magazine “Snippet.” It’s got tips on crafting, beauty and general health, as well as interviews. Plus, it’s kinda punk-rock glam which just makes it super fun.
Rock on, cut out and keep!
